upfromthewell: (loldako!)
1. Sadako and her sister have gotten a lot further along in the "rejoining" process. Her dark side is a full adult now and a lot stronger, but Sada-chan has also grown more of a backbone, has developed her healing abilities considerably and doesn't even hide behind her hair anymore. As an entity, they will tend to treat others as they are treated, though that varies depending on who is in control at the moment.

2. When her inhuman side is "out", the damage she suffered being trapped in a well for eight months becomes obvious; she is stiff, pallid and ghostly, and one eye still has not healed properly and has a severely drooping lid. This she keeps hidden behind her hair. If she concentrates, and allows her "sister" more control, she becomes more human-looking--even beautiful--but her left eye remains strange and her skin very white. In spite of her frail and slightly droop-shouldered appearance, she speaks with confidence, in a voice that resonates oddly.

3. As this damage heals, the two will begin to rejoin. How good or evil the end character is pretty much depends on the course of roleplay, but her fully developed power set follows the course of the later Ringu novels.

4. In Nexus based games, Sada-chan runs a little Reiki healing clinic out of a kyoto-machiya complex, and lives in the back.

YAY!

Sadako has been LOLed into a cute little furball. Hence the default icon of the week. Her scary side is less than pleased. ^__^

I was trying to figure out a place for Sadako to live that was both appropriately Japanese and appropriately weird and Gothic, while still allowing her to have a cute little shop of her own. Fortunately, I came across a description of a particular sort of classic townhouse/shop combination called a machiya. It's specific to Kyoto, but it's still something she'd find more familiar than an apartment building, especially since (at first--it would be cool if she got some neighbors) she'll be relatively isolated.

These are long, narrow buildings, usually two stories, with a storefront in front, multiple patios and a rear and side garden. It's a really funky design. I am imagining a row of these things in some darker corner of the Nexus; all are abandoned, most are in disrepair, and Sadako is still working to fix hers up.

Of course, S. needs a place to haunt. I'm thinking the second floor and possibly the broken-down tearoom in the back garden are going to be...off-limits...for a while.
